CUSTOM PROJECTS ~ see archive gallery
If you are interested in having a custom piece made for you or a loved one, you may contact me via email with as much detail as possible about your request. Please include: your idea, metal/stone/materials, budget, timeline, and anything else you think might be important. (I love client sketches, no matter how rough!)
If I can accept, we will move forward with an agreed upon timeline, price, and design. A non-refundable 50% deposit is due before I begin making, and the rest is due upon delivery/before shipment.
If you have only a rough idea or something small in mind, no fear! I work with a wide range of budgets, so no project is too small. I look forward to working with you to bring your idea to life.
Customizing a piece that already exists: I am happy to accept requests for small changes in batch pieces to make a piece feel like only yours. You may ask for a small (or large) stone added, letters stamped, etc. See a shape you like but want a different color? A color you love but need a specific shape? Just ask.
SHOP INFO & POLICY
MiKJEWELRY is owned and operated solely by Mikayla Dennison. All work is made by myself in my small home studio. Casting work is always hand carved, outsourced to be cast, and hand finished by myself.
I make designs in small batches and some one-of-a-kind pieces. If you want to customize a piece you see in the shop, you may request this via email. See more info below in “custom projects.”
Measurements are approximate and rounded to the nearest millimeter.
WHOLESALE - I have wholesale purchase options available for retail stocking on certain designs. If you are interested in becoming a stockist, please email me! I’d love to work with you.
Please contact me if you are interested in having my work in your store on commission.
JEWELRY CARE
Sterling silver jewelry is naturally prone to oxidation. This means that its surface may darken due to exposure to elements in the air. This may also occur from elements such as chlorine, sulfur, and fluorine. It is best to keep your silver jewelry in a closed bag when not wearing it. If you notice your jewelry has been exposed to these elements, do not worry! Your jewelry will shine back up naturally after being worn for a few days or polished by a Sunshine brand cloth, available on my site.
Powder coated colorful jewelry should not be exposed to elements such as chlorine etc. as these chemicals can erode the color coating away from the metal. If this does happen, work may be re-coated by request and will require payment.
My earring posts are always sterling silver, and come with silver backs. It is important that the backs that come with your earrings remain with them, as using a different size back in the post could damage it.
Please be mindful that while I do my best to ensure that your jewelry is made with high quality, it is made by two hands, and this might mean taking extra care for your pieces. While something may require a repair here and there, your jewelry is made to last a lifetime.
RETURNS / REPAIRS
As stated above, handmade jewelry requires care. Please be mindful of this when traveling with jewelry, how you store it, etc… Please take note that all sales are final.
While I take the utmost care to package your jewelry for shipment, if your jewelry arrives to you damaged, please immediately contact me, and we will move forward with a fix. Shipping costs will be determined at time of communication.
If you are wearing your jewelry (as intended!), some natural “wear-and-tear” will occur. I encourage you to welcome the marks of daily life to become present in your silver jewelry. If a piece is damaged or breaks after ongoing regular wear, I am happy to repair and/or repolish the piece. Shipping costs to be determined based on how long piece has been worn, extent of repair, including materials required for repair.
I accept repair and resize requests for jewelry that was not made by myself. If you have jewelry or other small metal items waiting for repair, contact me to see if I can bring it back to life! This includes and is not limited to: Ring resizing or re-shaping, re-setting or re-designing stone settings, chain repair, upgrades such as adding a handmade clasp or re-making something in a different metal type. See my “REPAIR/REWORK” page for more details.
Customer satisfaction is top priority, so please reach out to me with any concerns.
DO YOU SELL YOUR WORK IN PERSON?
Yes! I participate in plenty of in-person events and markets. I love chatting with clients about this work and relishing in the joy of craft with others. I always advertise events on my social media ~ following on instagram is the best way to receive time sensitive notices and get access to the latest happenings.
@mikjewelry
Is there any difference between shopping your website verses in person?
I always have work in person that is not on the website - This may include a new idea that I’m looking for feedback on, stickers, or a new batch of something I whipped up the night before.
You are there in person so there is no shipping cost! In person card sales require sales tax.
Are you a storefront business who loves working with artists? I would love to share my inventory. Please email mikjewelrystudio@gmail.com for retail requests.
